Cold Weather Advisory
With severe cold temperatures expected tonight, Belton Honea Path Water Authority encourages customers to take the following steps to help protect water pipes from freezing:
- Allow faucets to drip slowly, especially those located on exterior walls.
- Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate around plumbing.
- Insulate exposed pipes, outdoor faucets, and crawl-space plumbing where possible.
- Disconnect garden hoses and ensure outdoor spigots are properly covered.
- If you plan to be away, do not turn off your heat—keep indoor temperatures consistent.
- If you own or manage a business that will be closed or a vacant rental property, please ensure the property is checked and properly protected during the cold weather.
